A Brazilian punk band from the late '70s that evolved into something more experimental.
For a quick sense of them, listen to 'Está Proibido' or 'Voce Pra Mim.' Those songs have that mix of punk energy and something a little off-kilter.
They started in 1978 with a name that translates to 'punk kid with 100 shames,' which tells you everything about their attitude. Their debut album 'Gritos & Truques' in 1982 had 'Lábios Divididos,' a song that became an anthem for a certain crowd. Later records like 'Rádio Pirata' and 'Monstro' pushed into weirder territory without losing that raw edge.
The band formed in Brasília in 1978 with André X on vocals, Marco Bocato on guitar, Ronaldo Leimer on bass, and Marcelo Jucá on drums. After 'Gritos & Truques,' they kept making albums that got more experimental, like 'Rádio Pirata' and 'Monstro.' André X died in 2016 at 57.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
