Moms Mabley

Moms Mabley, born Loretta Mary Aiken, was a comedian and singer who worked in the mid-20th century. She recorded a version of 'Abraham, Martin and John' in 1969, a song that became widely known as a tribute to Abraham Lincoln, Martin Luther King Jr., and Robert F. Kennedy. Her performances sometimes featured musicians like pianist Bill Doggett and guitarist Herb Ellis.

She also released albums such as 'The Best of Moms Mabley' in 1972 and 'Moms Mabley at Carnegie Hall' in 1975. Mabley's comedy often touched on social issues, and she performed into the late 1970s, with recordings like 'A Mother's Love' from 1979.
