Monali

Monali is an Indian music band that formed in Mumbai around 2011. The group came together with members who had classical training, drawing from Indian classical and folk traditions while working with contemporary arrangements. Their sound developed through a mix of these influences, avoiding strict genre boundaries.

They released their first album 'Rang' in 2015, followed by 'Ishq' in 2018. The track 'Anjaana Anjaani' became one of their better-known songs, along with 'Zara Zara Touch Me.' Their music sometimes drew criticism from listeners who preferred more traditional approaches, but the band continued with their own direction.

The group included vocalist Madhuvanti Sanap, multi-instrumentalist Sarang Kulkarni, and percussionist Mayuri Upadhya. Their recordings show a preference for blending instruments and styles rather than sticking to conventional formats. The music doesn't follow a single template, shifting between different melodic approaches across their releases.
