Moneen formed in Philadelphia around 2000 with Kenny Bridges on guitar, Austin Ashline on bass, and Chris Hughes on drums. Their first album, 'Are We Really Happy With Who We Are Right Now?', came out in 2003 and included songs like 'No Better Way To Show Your Love Than A Set Of Broken Legs' and 'The Song I Swore To Never Sing'.
They put out another album called 'The Red Tree' in 2006. The drummer Chris Hughes left the band in 2005, which was a rough patch for them. They kept going after that and released more music, including a record titled 'The World I Know'.
