Monge do Caos

Monge do Caos formed in 2001 with guitarist Fábio Massari and vocalist Franklin Magalhães. They came up in Brazil's underground scene, playing a mix of heavy metal, industrial, and noise that didn't fit easily into mainstream channels. Their debut album arrived in 2004, followed by records like Apocalipse in 2006 and Opus Diaboli in 2008.

Their song Azazel drew accusations of blasphemy and Satanism, though the band denied any religious or political affiliations. They kept at it, putting out Antichristus in 2010 and Anunnaki in 2013. Other tracks like Filho da Guerra and Meu Bem show the range of their sound.

They built a loyal following among listeners who appreciated their raw, uncompromising approach. The music stays heavy and distorted, with guttural vocals and pounding rhythms, but they've experimented with ambient and electronic elements too.
