Monica Naranjo

Monica Naranjo came out of Figueres in Catalonia with a debut album in 1994 that caught attention quickly. Her voice had a theatrical quality, and she wasn't shy about themes that made some listeners uncomfortable. Songs like 'Desatame' and 'Pantera En Libertad' carried a certain boldness that wasn't common in mainstream Spanish pop at the time.

She kept recording through the late 90s and 2000s, putting out albums like 'Palabra de Mujer' and 'Tarántula'. Her music often mixed pop with darker, more dramatic sounds, and tracks like 'Lágrimas de Un Ángel' showed that side of her writing.
