Montenegro is a Brazilian sertanejo band formed in 1990 by brothers Ailton and Adilson Ribeiro. They started in the countryside of Goiás, and their early work drew from those rural roots. In the early '90s, they signed with a major label and released a debut album that connected with listeners through a mix of traditional and contemporary sertanejo sounds.

Their 2019 collaboration with Marília Mendonça on "Eu, Você e a Pinga" became a major hit. Other songs like "Um Dia de Você e Eu" and "Cê Acha Justo Com Ele" with Naiara Azevedo show their continued presence in the genre. The band has released over 15 studio albums across various sertanejo styles.

Montenegro faced a dispute with their record label in 2011 that led to a break from recording and performing. They eventually resolved it and returned to work. The current lineup includes Ailton Ribeiro on vocals and guitar, Adilson Ribeiro on vocals and bass, and Edson Alves on drums.
