Monterrey

Monterrey formed in 2005 with vocalists Thiago Duran and Rafael Paes Leme joining guitarist André Gabeh. Their debut album 'A Vida É um Sopro' did well, anchored by the single 'Não Diga Que Não Te Avisei,' which became a substantial hit in Brazil. The song's mix of pop energy and rock guitar gave them an early foothold.

In 2009, both Duran and Paes Leme left the band, leaving Gabeh to rebuild the lineup. He brought in new members, including Caio Duran on vocals, and Monterrey kept recording. They put out albums like 'Mundo Paralelo' in 2011 and 'Sintonia' in 2014, with songs such as 'Ancorado' and 'Bomba Viva' maintaining their presence on Brazilian radio.

Their sound settled into a straightforward pop-rock format, leaning on melodic hooks and clean production. Later tracks like 'Caso Perdido' and '$em' continued in that vein, reliable rather than revolutionary. The band's activity tapered off after their 2017 album 'Infinito,' with Gabeh remaining the constant figure throughout the changes.
