Origins and Rise to Fame
The band, initially known as Scram C Baby, comprised four musicians: singer and guitarist André Henriques, bassist Pedro Correia, drummer Vasco Vaz, and guitarist Hugo Cristóvão.
Inspired by the glam rock era of the 1970s, Morabeza Tobacco quickly gained a reputation for their energetic live performances and infectious melodies. Their breakthrough came in 2008 with the release of the single "Defenders of the Glam," which became an instant hit on Portuguese radio and MTV.
