Archive material and source history
Moral Dilemma came out of London in the late 1970s. Their debut album was called 'Bigger Cages, Longer Chains' in 1981, which gave them a song by the same name. The band's lineup included Johnny Riley on vocals, Dave Thompson on guitar, Sarah Jones on bass, and Mark Wilson on drums.
Their music pulled from punk but also had some reggae and ska in it. After 'Bigger Cages, Longer Chains', they put out 'The Sound of Dissent' in 1983 and 'Unleashing the Fury' in 1985.
Later on, their sound shifted toward something more introspective. They kept playing and recording, but that early period with the confrontational shows and the debut album is what most people remember.
