Morbeck formed in 1983 after the breakup of Golpe de Estado, with Marcelo Nova on vocals and guitar, Ricardo "Paçoca" Corrêa on bass, and Guilherme Arantes on drums. Their debut album came out in 1985. The song "Viver Que Nem Louco" appeared on their 1987 album of the same name.
Their music drew attention for its direct lyrics about social issues, which sometimes put them at odds with authorities. Nova's public persona and lifestyle choices also kept the band in the news. They kept recording through the 1990s and into the 2000s, putting out albums like "Facas e Faca" in 1990 and "Inferno" in 2004.
