Moria formed in Belo Horizonte in 1996. The Brazilian heavy metal band's original lineup included vocalist Fabiano Penna, guitarist Anderson Ricardo, bassist Marcio Silveira, and drummer Leandro Mendes. They released their debut album 'The Bleeding Heart' in 2000.
Their 2009 album 'Betrayed by Destiny' gave the band its title track, which became one of their most recognized songs. Other tracks like 'Endless Fall' and 'Nightmare' also appear among their top material. The band has continued releasing albums through 2021's 'A New Dawn'.
In 2008, Moria faced plagiarism accusations over their song 'Fallen Angel,' which they denied. The band has seen lineup changes over time, though Penna, Ricardo, and Silveira have remained core members through much of their work.
