Moshidora was a Japanese pop band that formed in 2007. The original lineup included Minami Minegishi on vocals, Aika Ota on keyboards, Sayaka Akimoto on bass, and Rina Kawaei on drums. All four members were also part of the idol group AKB48, which brought its own pressures and attention to their side project.
Their debut single "Daisuki Dayo" came out in 2009 and became a hit. They followed it with other releases like "Overture" in 2010 and "1/48" in 2011. Another song, "Yume Noto," appears among their most recognized tracks.
The band went on hiatus in 2016. Before that, they had put out music for several years, mixing pop with rock and electronic elements in a style that found an audience.
