They formed in 1999 when Father Carlos Alberto de Castro gathered singers from the community, with support from Mother Superior Luzia de Maria. The group leads liturgical ceremonies at the monastery and performs concerts.
Their 2007 debut album "Vossa Sou" included songs like "VOSSA SOU" and "Amigos Fortes de Deus." The album blended Brazilian folk melodies with Gregorian chant, which drew some criticism from traditionalists within the Catholic Church at the time.
The choir has recorded other songs including "Ave Maria," "Bem Aventurados," and "Colo do Maria." They continue to perform from their home at the monastery in São Paulo.
