Mournful Gust

Mournful Gust formed in Finland in 2007, with members S.V. on vocals, K.R. on guitar, L.P. on bass, and J.H. on drums. Their first album, 'And We Shall Die Together,' came out in 2010. The band's sound sits somewhere in the atmospheric end of black metal, with songs like 'As A Wingless Bird' and 'The First Spring Without You' showing their lean toward slower, more melodic arrangements.

They followed that debut with 'The Earth Will Die Screaming' and then 'Paragon of Dissonance,' records that kept exploring that same moody, textured space. Their lyrics often circle themes of loss and sorrow, which you can hear in titles like 'Path Of My Tears' and 'I Saw Her Sad Eyes.' The music tends to avoid straightforward aggression in favor of something more drawn-out and atmospheric.
