Mouse formed in Porto, Portugal in 2004 with Pedro Gonçalves on vocals and guitar, Samuel Úria on guitar, Jorge Coelho on bass, and Ivo Costa on drums. They signed to Optimus Discos in 2007 and released their debut album 'Crónicas da Cidade Invisível' the following year.
Their song 'Abertura' became particularly well-known, though in 2011 there were some accusations about similarities to a Metric song. The band denied any plagiarism. They also have a track called 'Mousechu Moouse' in their catalog.
That debut album got some positive attention for what people described as its raw energy and introspective lyrics. The band toured Portugal after its release.
