Archive material and source history
Mouth & MacNeal were a Dutch duo made up of Sjaak van der Tak (Mouth) and Willem Duyn (MacNeal). They came together in the early 1970s, around the time when their single 'I See a Star' became a hit across Europe in 1974. That song, with its plaintive melody, is what most people remember them for.
After their initial success, the pair went their separate ways for a while, each trying solo careers. They got back together in 1997 for some concerts, which went over well with fans who still wanted to hear them. They kept performing together until Willem Duyn passed away in 2019.
