Moving Mountains formed in Oakland, California in 2002. The band included vocalist Gregory Dunn, guitarists Thomas Johnson and Ryan Sollee, bassist Andy Farah, and drummer Ryan Kattner. They released their debut album 'Pneuma' in 2005.
Their 2011 album 'Waves' featured the song 'Eastern Leaves,' which became a fan favorite. Other tracks like 'The Cascade' and 'Under a Falling Sky' also appeared in their catalog. The band's music drew from post-punk and alternative rock influences.
Gregory Dunn handled vocals and lyrics for the group. The lineup remained fairly stable during their active years, with Dunn, Johnson, Sollee, Farah, and Kattner forming the core membership.
