Mr. Pottier

Mr. Pottier was an alternative rock band from Seattle that formed in the mid-1990s. Their debut album 'Underneath the Surface' came out in 1997, and it included the song 'Drinkcrazy' which became something of an underground hit. The band's frontman was known only as Mr. P, and they kept a fairly anonymous lineup with members identified just by first names like Jake on bass and Jim on drums.

Their sound pulled from grunge and punk, with lyrics that often dealt with alienation and social critique. Beyond 'Drinkcrazy', they had other tracks like 'Limite' and 'Ponto Crazy' that followed a similar vein. They released a few more albums in the early 2000s, including 'The Great Unknown' in 1999 and 'This Is Not a Dream' in 2003.

Mr. Pottier developed a cult following, partly because of Mr. P's refusal to share much about his personal life, which created an air of mystery around the band. Their music, especially 'Drinkcrazy', resonated with listeners who felt disconnected from mainstream culture. They stopped being active in the late 2000s, with their last album 'The Last Dance' coming out in 2006.
