Muerdo

Muerdo is the stage name of Spanish singer-songwriter Pascual Cantero. His music has roots in the traditional sounds of Andalusia, where he grew up, but he's built his own path from there. His debut album "Flores en Marte" came out in 2008, followed by records like "Tocando Tierra" in 2011 and "Akal" in 2013.

His songs often work with straightforward, melodic folk structures, but the lyrics can lean toward social observation. Tracks like "Lejos de La Ciudad" and "Semillas" are good examples of his style, direct, acoustic-driven, and lyrically grounded. He's collaborated with other Spanish artists, including El Kanka on the song "Luz Natural."

Later albums like "Viento del Este" from 2018 and "Flores del Mal" from 2020 show him incorporating broader influences, including some Latin and reggae rhythms. He performs live with a band that has included musicians like percussionist Rafa Ruda and guitarist Juanjo Reig.
