Muguette formed in Paris in 1963, originally with Chantal Simon, Françoise Hardy, and Maryse Etienne. After Hardy left and the group took a break, they returned in 1966 with a different lineup that included Marie-France Dromard, Mireille Herve, and Patricia Richard.
That second version of Muguette recorded "Ces Bottes Sont Faites Pour Marcher," which became their signature song. They released several albums in the late 1960s, including 'Muguette' in 1967 and 'Les Bottes de Muguette' in 1968.
The group's lineup changed several times over those years.
