He continued making music that addressed social issues, releasing albums like "Sarak" in 1988, "Saathiya" in 1992, "Hua" in 1999, and "Andar" in 2005.
Munir died in 2016. His vocal style drew from both qawwali traditions and Western rock, and his music found listeners across South Asia.
