Munir Worship formed in Brazil around the mid-2000s, with members including Munir Sodré on vocals, Nivea Soares on vocals, Pr. Luiz Arcanjo on guitar, and Pr. Marcos Salles on bass. Their first album, 'De Todo o Meu Ser,' came out in 2007.
Their 2009 album 'Sempre Ao Teu Lado' gave them their most recognizable song, the title track. It's a ballad that became popular in Christian circles in Brazil.
In 2012, the band drew some criticism for working with the Igreja Universal do Reino de Deus, a Brazilian Pentecostal church. The collaboration raised questions for some listeners about the group's direction.
