Muscle was a New York rock band that formed in the early 1980s. They started as Thunder Road with Vince Dicola on vocals, Vinny Martell on guitar, Tommy Funderburk on bass, and John Bergamo on drums. A&M Records signed them in 1985.
Their 1986 debut album included 'The Pump,' which got heavy radio play and became their best-known song. They put out three more albums after that: 'Cruel Intention' in 1988, 'Heart of a Lion' in 1990, and 'Unleashed' in 1992.
Dicola's lyrics and the band's image drew some criticism at the time. They left A&M in 1988 and moved to CBS Records.
