Fare thee well and adieu to you, spanish ladies,

Fare thee well and adieu to you, ladies of spain;

For the captain is restless and our purses are empty

But we hope in a short time to see you again.

Cho: we'll rant and we'll roar like buccaneer villains,

We'll rant and we'll roar across the salt seas;

Until we take prizes with our steel and our cannon:

And in front of our roger let every man flee.

Our crew are all villains some robbers some huntsmen

Others are bastards or runaway slaves

Our captain's a villain well known for his killin,

Our ship's called the rancor and rolls on the waves.

Then we bring her about, and we sail for the trade routes

Then we bring her about, toward that merchantman steer!;

We'll give them a broadside in the way of a warning

Then rob them all blind while they look on in fear.

So the first ship we took was laden with whiskey

The next ship we took was laden with gold

We've jewels and spices, fine silks and fine linens

But we'll plunder the seas until we've a full hold!

Now let every man here drink up his full bottle,

Let every man here drink up his full bowl;

For we will be jolly and drown melancholy,

In the morning weigh anchor and onward we roll!
