Mussambê

Mussambê formed in the early 2000s in Ilhéus, Bahia, a coastal town in Brazil. The group came together around singer-songwriter Guto Penedo and percussionist Ramiro Musotto, later adding guitarist Ricardo Herz, bassist Gabriel Guedes, and keyboardist Leo Lyra.

Their first album, 'Maré,' arrived in 2005. Three years later, they released 'No Paraíso,' which included the title track that became one of their most recognized songs. The music draws from bossa nova, samba, and Afro-Brazilian rhythms, with harmonies that feel airy and layered.
