My Mine formed in Manchester around 2007, with brothers Luke and Duncan Morley alongside Barry Hogan and James Lockey. They started playing local gigs and built a following with a sound that mixed post-rock and shoegaze textures. Their first album, 'Against the Grain,' came out in 2009, setting a moody, atmospheric tone that stuck with them.
Songs like 'Can Delight' and 'Hypnotic Tango' became fan favorites, carrying that drifting, introspective quality. They put out a couple more records, 'Wanderlust' in 2012 and 'Invisible' in 2015, which kept exploring similar territory with some ambient touches. At some point they had to adjust their name due to a trademark issue, but they kept working.
Luke Morley handled most of the vocals and writing, with Duncan on various instruments, Hogan on guitar, and Lockey on bass. They didn't chase huge commercial breaks, but their music found its listeners, the kind drawn to hazy melodies and layered sounds. They were just a Manchester band doing their thing for a while.
