MYLE formed in 2017 around singer-songwriter Marianna Lytle, who brought guitarist Sam Poyser, bassist Jake Johnson, and drummer Eli Hayes together. Their debut EP, also called 'Not Ready,' gave the band its first real attention. That title track became something of a heartbreak anthem for listeners, built around Lytle's voice, which could sound both exposed and determined.
They followed the EP with albums like 'The Healing' in 2019 and 'Broken Pieces' in 2021. The band's internal dynamics became public in 2021 when Lytle faced accusations of bullying a former member, leading to a public apology and a period where they said they were working on their relationships. Their music kept circling themes of personal struggle and connection.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
