Mystery Skulls

Mystery Skulls is the project of Luis Dubuc, who started releasing music around 2012. Their early EP included tracks like 'Ghost' and 'The Future', which established a sound that mixed indie rock with electronic elements. The 2014 album 'Forever' featured 'Freaking Out', a song that became one of their most recognizable tracks.

Dubuc has worked with other musicians including guitarist Jesse Blum and drummer Chris Czufak. Their music tends toward synth-pop textures with ethereal vocals, heard on songs like 'Paralyzed' and 'Hellbent'. The project has continued releasing material since those early recordings, maintaining a consistent aesthetic across different releases.

In 2016, a planned tour was canceled due to health issues, which interrupted their momentum for a period. They returned to performing and recording afterward. The music doesn't follow dramatic narrative arcs so much as it explores particular moods and textures across different songs and albums.
