Mystic Braves formed in 2010 around guitarist Julian Ducatenzeiler, drummer Shane Stotsenburg, and bassist Anthony Pisano. They started playing in Los Angeles, drawing from the hazy, melodic side of psychedelic rock. Their self-titled debut came out in 2013, followed by 'Desert Island' a couple years later.

Songs like 'Perfect Person' and 'Bright Blue Day Haze' have that drifting, sun-bleached quality the band became known for. They toured fairly steadily in those years, sometimes opening for acts like The Flaming Lips.

In 2018, Ducatenzeiler acknowledged past inappropriate behavior toward a fan. The band stepped back for a while after that. They've put out music since, including tracks like 'Born Without a Heart' and 'Can't Have Love,' but they've kept a lower profile.
