Mystific started in the early 2000s as a duo with Justin Hagler on vocals and instruments and Maxx Force on keyboards and production. They worked with limited resources at first, playing live shows and putting out underground releases like their 2003 album The Gift of Plague and 2005's The Psychotic.
Things shifted in 2007 when they released Do U Copy? (Transformers Remix). The track, which drew from the Transformers franchise, got them wider attention with its distorted vocals and heavy basslines. It appeared on their 2009 album The Code.
They kept putting out albums roughly every few years after that, including The Machine in 2012, The Plague Returns in 2015, and The Zone in 2018. Other songs like Possibilities and Release Me (feat. Agnes) also show up in their catalog.
