Nakanomori Band formed in 1981 with three members: Yoko Nakanomori on vocals, Toshiaki Matsumoto on keyboards, and Akira Mitake on bass. Their song 'KISU Shite Hoshii (TU- TU- TU-)', released that same year, became their most recognizable track. They put out a few albums in the early 1980s, including 'NAI・MOO・NAI (HEART・OF・STONE)' in 1982 and 'Aogeba Toutoshi (Look Up, My City)' in 1983.
Their music was often described as atmospheric and introspective, with a sound that some critics at the time found too dark. They didn't seem to chase mainstream trends, sticking with their own style. Beyond 'KISU Shite Hoshii', their catalog includes songs like 'Quicksand', 'Satellite', and 'Hana Monogatari'.
