Naomi State formed in Bucharest in 2015 around vocalist Alexandru Bodiu and guitarist Vlad Dumitrescu. They started playing alternative rock with some indie touches. Their song 'Ce Folos' came out in 2018 and got some attention in Romania.
They put out a first album called 'Ephemeral' in 2020, then followed it with 'Stardust' in 2022. The second record had more layered vocals and atmospheric textures than the first one. In 2021, there were some accusations about similarities between their song 'Infinite' and another artist's work, which they denied.
