NARI formed in Bogotá in 2016, an all-female band built around Natalia Afanador, Juanita Carvajal, and Isabel De Los Ríos. Their name references an indigenous deity of creation and fertility, which gives you a sense of where they're coming from. They put out their debut album 'Akelarre' in 2018.
Their track 'FAVORITA' became a kind of anthem, built on a mix of Andean melodies and pop rhythms. They also have a song called 'Long Hair (Rongu Heaa).' At one point, they did a cover of the Colombian national anthem that incorporated some contemporary elements, which stirred up a bit of debate. They stuck with it, treating it as a reinterpretation rather than a replacement.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
