A Denver band that turned personal blues into communal, foot-stomping soul.
For the full picture, listen to the raucous release of 'S.O.B.' back-to-back with the more searching 'I Am'. That's the band's range.
The Night Sweats arrived in 2015 with 'S.O.B.', a single that felt like a revival meeting in a bar. That song's raw, shouting energy became their signature, but their catalog also holds quieter, more reflective tracks like 'Redemption' and 'Howling At Nothing' that trace Rateliff's personal struggles with recovery. They built a reputation on live shows where the audience participation was part of the music.
Rateliff formed The Night Sweats in 2013 with a few Denver musicians. Their self-titled debut in 2015 introduced their blues and soul sound, and later albums like 'Tearing at the Seams' and 'And It's Still Alright' brought in more funk and rock elements.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
