The band eventually included Brad Tucker on banjo and lap steel and Eric Pulido on bass. They released their debut album 'Young Lovers' in 2012, which drew comparisons to Townes Van Zandt and Bob Dylan for its stripped-down sound and poetic lyrics.
Their second album 'Dancin' Man' featured the song 'Ain't Gonna Stop,' which became something of an anthem for listeners. The band's music pulls from folk, blues, country, and soul, with Sherman's writing often circling themes of love, loss, and addiction. They've released four studio albums and a live EP.
In 2018, Sherman faced drug possession charges and entered rehab. The band's later album 'Practical Magic' came out of that period. Natural Child built their following through live shows rather than industry channels, maintaining an organic, collaborative approach to writing and arranging songs.
