Archive material and source history

Naz was a British rock band that formed in London in 1967. The original lineup included vocalist Noddy Holder, guitarist Pete Agnew, bassist Alan Nash, and drummer Darrell Sweet. Their sound drew from the Beatles and the Kinks as well as American blues figures like B.B. King and John Lee Hooker.

In 1969 they released their debut single "Bluebell," which became a top-10 hit in the UK and several other countries. The song's melody and Holder's vocal delivery helped establish the band during that period. They followed with albums like Naz (1969), Every Day (1970), and Under the Sun (1971).

Internal conflicts and drug issues led to lineup changes and a hiatus in the mid-1970s. After reforming later in the decade, they continued to release music with less commercial impact. Holder eventually formed Slade, while Agnew kept performing with various versions of Naz. Songs like "Bluebell" and "Bad Bad Boy" remained in their setlists.
