N'dea Davenport first gained attention as the lead vocalist for the R&B group Zhané in the mid-1990s. Their debut album 'Pronounced Jah-nay' came out in 1994, followed by 'Saturday Night' three years later. That second album included 'One Day My Love,' which became one of their better-known tracks.
After Zhané, Davenport released her first solo album in 2004, simply titled 'N'dea Davenport.' She's been open about dealing with lupus and a bipolar disorder diagnosis, which she discussed publicly around 2010. Her music since then has continued in that soulful R&B vein she established early on.
