Nellaine formed in Porto Alegre, Brazil in 2002 with Simone Spoladore on vocals, Rafael Santos on guitar, Flavio Pilla on bass, and Luciano Leães on drums. They released their debut album in 2006, which included the song "Praia." That track became their most recognizable work, a gentle melody that found an audience across Brazil.
Santos left the band in 2007, and Eduardo Scher joined as guitarist. They kept touring and put out more albums like "Dia de Sol" in 2010 and "Infinito" in 2013. In 2012, a photo surfaced that appeared to show them at an event for a far-right politician, which drew criticism. The band denied any affiliation with the politician and condemned hate speech.
They released another album, "A Vida É Bela," in 2018. Their music has stayed in circulation, and they've continued performing.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
