Neo 90

Neo 90 formed in São Paulo in the late 1980s with Zeh Taborda on vocals, Pedro Senna on bass, and Fabio Cerqueira on drums. They came together around music that carried some social weight, though the specifics of that early scene are mostly lost to time.

Their 1992 song "Fazendo a Diferença" became their calling card, a straightforward pop track with lyrics about making a difference. It's the one most people remember, even if the rest of their catalog, including albums like "Tempo de Mudar" in 1994 and "Recomeço" in 2005, never quite reached the same level of recognition.

They kept at it for a while, putting out records through the '90s and into the 2000s. The music was upbeat, the melodies were catchy, and the lyrics tended to point toward social themes. That was their lane, and they stayed in it.
