Nerý Souza

Nerý Souza began singing in Pentecostal churches around Nova Iguaçu, Brazil. Her debut album 'Tempo de Milagres' came out in 2002, and its title track became popular enough to give her some national recognition. She followed it with albums like 'O Melhor de Deus' in 2003 and 'Eu Creio' in 2005.

Her music mixes Brazilian gospel with pop and rock elements. The song 'Glória Ao Rei Dos Reis' appeared in 2015 and became one of her better-known tracks. Some listeners have noted that her style draws from both traditional church music and contemporary influences.

In 2007, some evangelical listeners questioned whether her appearance and musical approach were too secular. Souza kept recording through that period. Later, around 2015, there were accusations that 'Glória Ao Rei Dos Reis' might have been plagiarized, which she denied.
