Archive material and source history
Nesian Mystik formed in 1999 in Otara, South Auckland, with David Dallas and Jason Kerrison on vocals, Jerome Chandra on drums, and Eden Pene on keyboards. Their debut album 'Polysaturated' came out in 2004, featuring the track 'For the People' which became something of an anthem in New Zealand.
They followed up with albums in 2006 and 2008, which included songs like 'Nesian Style' and 'So Beautiful.' Their sound drew from Pacific Island culture, reggae, and hip-hop, and they had songs in their catalog like 'Brief Reflection' and 'Dancefloor.'
In 2006, David Dallas left the band after being accused of domestic violence. Jason Kerrison went solo in 2010. The remaining members put out another album called 'Truth Is' in 2012.
