Neuber Uchôa grew up in Taquaritinga do Norte, Pernambuco, where he first heard the local forró rhythms that would shape his music. In the late 1970s, he joined the band Mastruz com Leite as their lead vocalist, and they had a hit with 'Casinha de Abelha' in 1988.
After leaving the band in the early 1990s, Uchôa recorded solo albums like 'Neuber Uchôa' in 1994 and 'Coração Cigano' in 1996. Some of his other songs include 'Cruviana,' 'Primeira Festa,' and 'Sansão e Dalila.'
In 2003, he was injured in a car accident but returned to performing. His lyrics have sometimes drawn criticism, but he kept writing and recording forró music.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
