Neuro Holandes formed in 2016 with Jonas van de Kamp on vocals and guitar, Arnoud Bregman on guitar, Maarten van der Molen on bass, and Joost van Vliet on drums. They started playing shows and released an EP in 2017, followed by an album called The Electric Age in 2018.
In 2019, they put out the single "Never Give Up," which became their most recognizable track. The following year, they released another album titled In the Shadow of Doubt.
Their lyrics drew some criticism in 2018, with accusations about promoting substance abuse, which the band denied. They kept touring and recording through that period.
