Upon Wings of Fear

On my knees,

I've crawled,

I've begged

And all this just to know if you're real.

Clenched hands so tight, so white and pale with fear.

Could this really be happening to me?

Could this really be happening again?

Modern mans deception.

Past occupations afflictions.

Still fighting for the same outcome.

In his name we shed our blood.

We watch in vain, blood shed in the name of a god.

Over dead bodies as the sinners tread,

As they march all alone with the walking dead.

How could anyone survive the torment?

How can we all believe in something heaven sent?

Surrounded by heretics

I search for the light.

Avoiding the most treacherous hell bent,

I walk a thin line. divided.

Fighting all these demons in the dark, in our hearts.

We don't need to perish and live on in stone before the torment starts.

Scared of what we know, yet so uncertain.

Well i don't know of a god, but it's fear that gives men wings.
