New Lease started as a band called Reaction in Austria during the 1980s. They signed with Ariola Records and put out their first album, First Lease, in 1982. Their second album, New Lease, came out in 1984 and included the track Live Is Life.
Live Is Life became popular internationally. The song Burn Out also appears among their better-known tracks. They released other albums like En Route in 1986 and New Horizons in 1988.
Peter Skellern played keyboards and sang for the band. Their catalog includes the song No Name as well. They kept recording and performing through the late 1980s.
