His debut album 'Viola Enluarada' came out in 1966, and he followed it with records like 'O Samba É Minha Vida' in 1970 and 'Eu Acredito' in 1976.
His song 'Eu Acredito' became particularly well-known in Brazil during the 1970s. He has worked with other Brazilian musicians including Elis Regina, Chico Buarque, and Gilberto Gil.
