Nicholas McDonald came to attention in 2013 when he finished third on the eleventh season of The X Factor. He was born in Motherwell, Scotland, in 1990. His debut album, 'In the Arms of an Angel,' came out the following year and reached number two on the Scottish Albums Chart. It included the single 'Answerphone.'
In 2015, his cover of Christina Perri's 'A Thousand Years' became a viral hit. The song, originally from a Twilight film, reached the top of charts in several countries and earned him a nomination for Best British Single at the BRIT Awards. His other recordings include a version of 'Flying Without Wings' featuring Shane Filan and a cover of Daniel Bedingfield's 'If You're Not the One.'
After that peak, his 2017 EP 'Forever and Always' didn't find the same commercial footing.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
