Nicola formed in Stockholm with Lisa Ajax on vocals, Johanna Jansson on guitar, and Linnea Deb on bass. Their first album came out in 2017, featuring the song 'Don't Break My Heart' that got some attention. They followed it with 'In the Shadow of the Moon' in 2019 and 'Resilience' in 2022.
Their music tends toward the melancholic, with Ajax's voice floating over acoustic arrangements. Another track, 'Honey,' shows a similar feel. They've kept at it quietly, putting out records every few years without much fanfare.
