Nilo Menendex

Nilo Menéndez was born in A Coruña, Spain. He started making music in the early 1960s, releasing his debut album 'Canciones para Ti' in 1962. His second album came out in 1965, featuring the song 'Aqueles Olhos Verdes' that became his most recognizable work.

He kept recording through the 1960s and 1970s, putting out albums like 'Los Ojos de la Soledad' in 1966, 'El Amor es Libre' in 1968, and 'Canciones de Siempre' in 1970. His music had a melancholy tone that drew from traditional Spanish folk and fado influences.

Menéndez worked as a solo artist but sometimes collaborated with other musicians including José Luis Perales, Juan Carlos Calderón, and Augusto Algueró. He continued releasing material into the 1980s and 1990s, with albums like 'Canciones Románticas' in 1990 and a compilation called 'Grandes Éxitos' in 2000.
